08/15/10 Well, its been a year now since I last updated the
site. What a year! A lot has happened. The biggest change is that
I am now the father of 2! Oscar Joseph Kling was born in February.
He is such a blessing. Another major happening was getting a Daytime
Emmy nomination for my work on Fanboy and Chum Chum, specifically
the main title. My wife and I went to the ceremony, after party, and
the special Nickelodeon after party. It was a blast! Last but not
least, I recently switched jobs. I am now an Animation Supervisor
on Fanboy and Chum Chum season 2. I'm really excited about this new
position and the opportunities it can bring.
In other news, erikkling.com has recently switched servers. Everything
should be up and running now, but I am in the process of revamping
this website and its partners.
07/30/09 I hope everyone is having a pleasant summer. It has
been a while since I have added any updates to the site. I finally
have some professional work which appeared online, so I thought I
would add as much as I could for your viewing pleasure. So please
check out the ANIMATIONS page! Also, since I last reported
in I have finished my album project: Humanoid. It is the newest music
from my band Transforming Apollo. You can download the entire album
for free at the band's website: www.transformingapollo.com
In other news, my ever faithful student film, Atomic Banana, is having
its second run in the Israel Science Fiction Festival. I also finally
have an IMDB page. I guess I'm not a total failure after all. I am
in the process of getting something going on my models page. It has
been dormant ever since I created this site. Hopefully, I can make
it happen soon. As always, thanks for checking the site.
11/16/08 Wow, time flies when you're life is busy. As of April
I have moved to Glendale, CA where I am now animating at Nickelodeon
Animation Studios. I am working on two projects there: The Penguins
of Madagascar, and Fanboy and ChumChum. The Penguins have a slight
premiere during Thanksgiving weekend, but actually starts in April,
and I think Fanboy airs next fall. On top of all that my son Ollie
turned one on the 19th of October. I can't believe I've been a dad
for over a year. I am working on a couple side projects. A new album
is in the works for Transforming Apollo. It's close to being done,
and I hope to have it finished by Xmas. On top of that I am developing
a few short film ideas. Hopefully I can get some help because I always
have extremely ambitious ideas and work moves slowly with the baby.
As for the site I will be updating my resume, links, and hopefully
a new demo reel soon. It's tough, because a lot of the work I've done
I can't show until the episodes begin to air. So it may be a while.
Thanks for checking the site.
01/12/08 Dang! It has been a long time since I updated this
page, and for those of you keeping tabs, I apologize. However, there
have been some major changes in my life that give me a good excuse
for being away. First off, I am now a Senior Animator at Massive Black
massiveblack.com.
I started there at the end of September, and I'm really enjoying the
job and the guys I work with. Second, I am a FATHER!! My son Oliver
was born on October 19th, 8 lbs 4 oz. He is awesome, very content,
and has made my transition into parenthood pretty easy. Third, Atomic
Banana has become part of the 2008 Animation Block Party DVD,
as well as licensed for TV, internet, and mobile (more on that later.)
So, my life is very busy and exciting. In addition to all this I have
been working on a number of side projects, a few films, and a new
album for Transforming Apollo.
07/14/07 Wow, some great stuff happening. As you've probably
noticed, the site has gotten a facelift. After about a year, I've
finally put my film Atomic Banana on the site for all
to watch. I've also added Future Past to the site, so
check it out in the Animations section. Oh, and check this out: Another
festival has accepted Atomic Banana!! The Animation
Block Party animationblock.com
in New York will be presenting my film on opening night, and I'm flying
out to be there. If you are in New York on July 27th, please get tickets.
I'd love to see you there.
06/17/07 A few new updates: I'm currently working for
Palma
VFX in San Francisco. I added a few new illustrations,
and an update to my demo reel. I also want to mention that I have
become a member of www.gloomshade.com.
You can go there and check out my profile.
05/10/07 I just finished Future Past: Museum on the Moon,
a live action film project I began back in the summer of 2004, but
was delayed in completing. I added the trailer to the site, and the
score, Enjoy!
